Of all the countless remakes that horror fans (and cinemagoers in general) are subjected to these days, perhaps one of the more promising is Darren Lynn Bousman’s update of Mother’s Day. Based on Charles Kaufman’s camp 1980 classic and adapted by writer Scott Milam, Bousman’s first feature since his critically acclaimed splatter musical Repo! The Genetic Opera sees ’80s star Rebecca De Mornay as the title character, with the likes of Jaime King (Sin City) and Briana Evigan (Sorority Row) offering support. Having kept his fan base and websites constantly updated via sites such as Twitter since the project was first announced, his reboot of the Troma gem looks set to put the likes of Prom Night and other PG-13 slasher remakes to shame.
Dread Central managed to catch the latest image from the movie, which is due for release later this year.

LOVE Troma, hope this is as good
