NEWS - Corey Feldman Reveals Details on New Lost Boys Sequel  | read this item

Anyone who grew up with The Lost Boys being a regular fixture of their late night viewing would no doubt have been seriously disappointed by the abomination that was its sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe. With From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter’s P.J. Pesce taking over from Joel Schumacher, the movie was a disaster in every possible way and seemed to cater more towards fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer than The Lost Boys.

So you may be forgiven for thinking that the third movie, titled Lost Boys: The Thirst, may be just as terrible. Franchise regular Corey Feldman has spilled the beans on the project in a phone interview with Horror-Movies.ca, and those who felt this could be another disaster will hardly feel any more at ease. The thirty-eight year old horror veteran had this to say regarding the movie:

‘I can tell you that this will be the official return of the Frog Brothers, which is very exciting. I can tell you that this film is definitely a lot bigger than the last one: it looks great and it’s gonna look and sound amazing. The special effects, the stunts. We do a lot of wire work, there’s a lot of CGI in it, which I know some of you older movie buff fans may not be a fan of but the new generation I think it’s exactly what’s called for. And it’s certainly going to live up to the expectations of today’s modern movie-going audience.’

Despite once again being set in California, the movie has recently wrapped shooting in South Africa, and although The Tribe hinted at a possible return for co-star Corey Haim (whom Feldman’s long-running collaboration had fallen apart during their reality TV show The Two Coreys), it is been revealed that Haim will not appear in the movie.

Those who felt that The Tribe was too far removed from the feel of the first movie may be even more worried about The Thirst, as Feldman continued’ ‘I think it’s got a new energy, it’s got a new look. I mean, it feels and looks quite different than the other films in some ways and I think much closer to what the comic book tried to bring forward.’

Feldman also expressed disappointment about the look of the vampires in the first sequel, whom he felt were less organic and too over-the-top, and so this time the filmmakers have attempted to return to the look of the original movie. The film promises to be more graphic too: ‘I can tell you this: there’s more scares, more blood and gore, more nudity, more violence. I mean, it’s kind of everything you expect from a teenage vampire film today.’ Clearly, he’s never seen Twilight!
