NEWS - Child Star Chloe Moretz Reveals Details on Let Me In  | read this item

Rising pre-teen star Chloe Moretz looks set to take the industry by storm with a series of high-profile projects, from the offbeat drama (500) Days of Summer (one of the highlights of last year’s Sundance Film Festival) to Let Me In, Matt Reeves’ anticipated reworking of the Swedish modern classic Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In). Twelve-year old Moretz (who becomes a teenager next month) first appeared in the Platinum Dunes remake of The Amityville Horror and has since made a name for herself on the small screen, but with the likes of Kick-Ass in the works 2010 promises to be her breakthrough year.

MTV’s blog managed to get a few words with Moretz regarding her role as Abby, a character who is loosely based on Lina Leandersson’s Eli from the original flick. ‘It definitely doesn’t glamorize the idea of a vampire; you see it’s not a fun thing to have in your life. She wishes not to have it; she wishes she could be a normal girl, but she can’t,’ explained Moretz. Låt den rätte komma in was a critically acclaimed adaptation of a cult novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

The young actress also reveals the basic plot of the movie, which has relocated the story to America. ‘It’s about a boy who lives in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Growing up, not many people like him, he’s not popular. He’s wimpy, kind of an outcast.’ Reeves, previously known for his creature feature Cloverfield, received a fair amount of criticism for deciding to remake the movie but over recent months anticipation has grown.

Let Me In will be released on October 1.
